Weekly Newsletter: Back To School, August’s Budget, Checking Email and more

7/30/2018

Hello friends!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Here are 5 tips that I think will help simplify your life and lessen overwhelm:

Tip #1
Sure the kids are going back to school soon, but there’s most likely still some time left for them to be at home during the day, which means having to find ways to keep them busy on the occasional rainy day when they cannot go outside. Or maybe your kids are not yet in school and will continue to be home with you. Here are 40 Fun activities to keep the kids entertained when they are stuck indoors.

Tip #2
Sometimes sorting through email at work can be rather overwhelming and a big time sucker. Make a decision to reply to emails only at certain times of the day. Maybe it would be best for you to spend your first 30-60 minutes of the work day only sorting and replying to email and then again just after lunch. You will have to determine what works best for you and with your job so you don’t neglect other important tasks or get off track. However, do still make sure you have a system for responding to any urgent emails that may come your way throughout the day – but only urgent!

Tip #3
To be more present with your family once you are home from work for the day, make a decision to check and respond to your personal email and text messages (or even work email if necessary) only after the kids have gone to bed or first thing in the morning.

Tip #4
August is almost here! Have you started next month’s budget yet? Try as hard as you can to get it finished before the new month arrives so you can get off to a great start. If you are not sure how to set up a budget, check out How To Create Your Own Budget In 5 Easy Steps.

Tip #5
Don’t leave off these items in your August budget all concerning back to school:

  • Back to school supplies
  • Back to school clothes
  • School registration fees
  • School sports fees
  • Physical fees
  • Lunch money

Have a great week!

Amy
