The choices in baby products when I was pregnant was rather overwhelming. I mean, seriously, the number of products available is endless! Because of that, I really appreciated hearing from others what products worked well for them. First-hand experience is often the best. And it came in so handy when putting my baby registry together.
We also live about 6 hours away from my family and a couple of hours from my in-laws. So we travel quite often. It was important to me to have products that travel well.
Here are baby products I recommend to you, based on my own experience. I leave honest feedback about each one.
I hope you enjoy looking through these!
Fisher-Price Newborn-to-Toddler Portable Rocker
I love this rocker! If it wasn’t for this, I wouldn’t be able to get dinner together or get ready for work in the morning. My son loves to sit in this and it usually keeps him occupied for awhile. It is also very easy to transport around the house and folds down so we can bring it with us when we travel. I can’t wait to see how much my son loves this chair when he’s a toddler!
Halo Sleepsack Swaddle
The hospital put our son in this the night he was born and I was hooked (or I guess he was :)). He loved this swaddle and knew it was bedtime when it went on. I’m a little embarrassed to admit, I still don’t know how to swaddle using just a blanket!
Ekouaer Pajamas
I wanted some cute pj’s I could wear to easily open up to nurse while at the hospital. These were perfect! They do seem to run a little big though. The pants are very long on me. (Yes, it’s OK to register for items that are for you and not the baby!)
Nursing Cover
I have not tried any other nursing cover to be able to compare this one, but I love this! It has made feeding my son in public a breeze! It’s so easy to slip on and doesn’t overheat my boy.
Diaper Backpack
I’m not sure why, but I never wanted to typical over-the-shoulder diaper bag. All of the essentials fits in this perfectly and it’s stylish too! And it’s also acceptable for dad to carry 🙂
Portable Rocking Bassinet
I love this bassinet! At first I wasn’t sure about having one so wide, but my son took to it very easily. It’s also portable so we bring it with us when we travel.
Hands Free Pumping Bra
I don’t know why I waited so long to get a hands free pumping bra! This thing is such a time saver. Instead of having to hold both pumps for 20-30 minutes at a time, I can get other things done while pumping. I highly recommend this if you pump. Highly, highly recommend!
Medela Breast Pump
I’ve never used a different brand of breast pump to know if one is better than the other, but I have absolutely no complaints with Medela. It has been working great and is easy to use.
Baby Einstein 5-in-1 Journey of Discovery Activity Gym
This is another great way to keep the baby entertained for a bit of time. My son enjoys looking at all the dangling parts and when he gets bigger, he can push balls that come with it through the netting on the side. The sides also fold up so he can’t go anywhere.
Bubzi White Noise Sound Machine and Sleep Aid Night Light
I just bought this a couple of weeks ago, as we have just started sleep training our son and are now having him sleep in his own room. I love it! The stars are so beautiful on the ceiling and constantly change to keep baby’s attention. I lay it down flat on the glider ottoman next to the crib and it works perfectly. I also like to use the lullabies as I have a different white noise machine (see below).
Dreamegg D1 White Noise Sound Machine with Baby Soothing Night Light
This white noise machine is great! It has quite a variety of sounds as well as a night light. There are also options to have it run all night or 30, 60, or 90 minutes. I am even thinking of getting one for our room!
Boppy Nursing Pillow
When I was first figuring out how to nurse, my Boppy Pillow helped me out so much. It took me awhile to get comfortable holding my son while nursing and so laying him on the Boppy was all I could do. It’s also a great pillow to help them sit up and for tummy time.
Bottle Drying Rack
I didn’t get one of these right away. I figured I could easily place all the bottles and pump parts on a towel on the counter. But boy did I get tired of that taking up so much counter space! I am so happy we ended up getting this drying rack. It makes it seem like less clutter in our kitchen, which makes me so happy!
Baby Swing
I don’t usually put my son in his baby swing unless I need him to go to sleep. This works great to keep him calm and entertained, but he almost always eventually falls asleep in it.
Philips Avent Bottles

I did my research before purchasing bottles because I wanted ones that simulated breastfeeding as much as possible. With me going back to work, my son had to be able to feed from a bottle and I didn’t want him to have any issues going back to the breast in between bottle feedings. He caught onto these right away!
Mylicon Gas Relief
My son tends to get pretty gassy and uncomfortable on long car rides (I’m talking hours-long trips). A little bit of Mylicon and he’s usually feeling better within 10 minutes!
Lanolin Nipple Cream
You’re going to need something the first month or so of nursing or you will be hurting.
Milestone Age Blocks
The exact blocks I ordered seem to no longer be available, but these are pretty similar. There are also countless others to choose from. These blocks are so great for weekly and then monthly updates on our baby. They also give you options to take different kinds of photos!
I have tried every one of the baby products above and can attest to them. Of course, please also read descriptions and other reviews as well before making a purchase.
